Why You Need an MP3 Player

Music can be great for your workouts

If like most women you’re a multitasker, you probably do more than just focus on moving your body while you work out. You might turn on the television and jump on the elliptical machine during your favorite show or balance a book on the treadmill and get in some reading during a brisk walk. If you know the true secret to making workouts go faster, you listen to music on an MP3 player.

Why you should listen to music while you work out

Let’s face it, exercise isn’t always the most fun thing you could be doing, but you know it’ll make you look and feel better when you’re done so you have to power through. Women are always looking for ways to get through a workout, whether they do it by zoning out to the television or browsing magazines. But these kinds of distractions can really detract from a workout.

When you listen to music it’s enjoyable, but it doesn’t require full attention. You can groove to the beat, sing along to the words (although that’s not recommended in a health club setting) or just use music as a way to drown out distractions. Music lifts your spirits and elevates your mood, which can take the focus off fatigue from a long day at work.

An MP3 player is the perfect way to have access to your favorite tunes. If you choose the right MP3 player you’ll be able to take it with you wherever you go. Just slip on the headphones and make physical activity more enjoyable anywhere, anytime.

What else you can do with an MP3 player

Far be it for anyone else to say what you can and can’t listen to while you work out. Everyone has their preference and it’s not always music. A great choice for those who would rather read than sweat is audio books. Load up the MP3 player with a good novel and have someone else read it to you while you go for a walk.

Another great way to use MP3 players is loading them up with a virtual personal trainer program. Many personal trainers have already started offering MP3 downloads online, so you’ll have a variety to choose from. And you can get programs covering everything from treadmill intervals to strength training workouts.
